Mastercard Agent Pay is Mastercard’s program for agent-initiated payments. Its acceptance framework registers and verifies agents before they transact with agentic tokens, verifies them at the CDN with Web Bot Auth, and carries a token in standard card fields.

Where it stands

As of 2026-10-14, the Agentic Standards Map records:

Commercial programme of Mastercard for agent-initiated payments, described on its framework page (read in a browser on 2026-10-14; first read 2026-10-02). Why it matters to agents

The framework page (a Mastercard statement) says “By implementing the emerging Web Bot Auth standard (as outlined in the framework) at the Content Delivery Network (CDN) layer, merchants can verify agent authenticity”, and that “we’ve partnered with Cloudflare to support Web Bot Auth in Mastercard Agent Pay”. Mastercard is the maintainer of Verifiable Intent (see verifiable-intent).
