Platform Mesh is an open, multi-tenant developer platform built on kcp that establishes interoperability between service providers using the Kubernetes API and resource model, so developers and admins can discover, access and order services from many sources through kubectl. It provides account-based tenancy, relationship-based authorization via OpenFGA, search and UI extensibility. Alpha; Apache 2.0.
Platform Mesh
Platform Mesh treats service discovery and ordering as a Kubernetes API problem: providers export APIs, consumers bind to them, and kubectl is the client. It is part of NeoNephos, a Linux Foundation Europe project.
- Built on kcp - Workspaces and API exports come from kcp; authorization is relationship-based through OpenFGA.
- Its resource model - Custom resources in
core.platform-mesh.io— Account, APIExportPolicy, AuthorizationModel, IdentityProviderConfiguration, Store and others. - Alpha - Its README warns that APIs may change or be removed.
