OpenControlPlane

OpenControlPlane (openMCP) delivers extensible Infrastructure- and Configuration-as-Data capabilities as a service: managed Kubernetes control planes, provisioned through operators, onto which teams install the services they declare. It is software, packaged as Open Component Model components; its contract is the core.openmcp.cloud resource model. Apache 2.0.

OpenControlPlane hands each team a managed control plane and lets everything else be declared against it. It is part of NeoNephos, a Linux Foundation Europe project.

  • Its resource model - ManagedControlPlane, APIServer, Authentication, Authorization, CloudOrchestrator and Landscaper in core.openmcp.cloud.
  • Delivered with OCM - The umbrella is built as an Open Component Model component and published to an OCI registry.
  • Releases - v1.1.8, 5 October 2026.
